Emily the cowgirlAnna as a mermaid

It was a fun last couple of days.

Saturday, Michael and I went to a Halloween Party, him as a milkman, me as the pregnant woman. A kids bike helmet makes a great stomach!!! It looked so real that a couple of people who have not seen me for a bit, were wondering if it was real. LOL

Anna and Emily went to a great Halloween Party on Sunday at the Grassos. We were allowed to stay with goodies in hand – Brownies and Popcorn & Candycorn Balls. Arts and crafts, games, great goodies and jumping of that sugar on the trampoline made for some really tired kids. At the end Anna and Emily were just so tired that we found them downstairs coloring peacefully. They had a ball and we enjoyed talking with our friends.

Tuesday was pumpkin carving time. Anna drew on her pumpkin and carved most of it, too so that I had hardly anything to do, but clean up. Emily still found it tough to carve, but had a ball practicing with dad. Well, here are our jack-o-lanterns:our pumpkins this year

But nothing is better than the real Halloween!!!! Michael came home early, we had a quick dinner and the transformation began. Anna became a beautiful mermaid and Emily an awfully cute cowgirl. Check it out:

They were bursting with excitement and anticipation. Then, their friends showed up and we had to get lots of snapshots!

We actually could not find Lilly’s hat – must have left it at the party – but I found another one like it in the back of a closet. Phew, saved the day, or night, right there!

And this is how it works here: The women of the cul-de-sac put out their chairs and pumpkins, get their goodies, something good to drink and wait for the kids. The guys follow the kids running from house to house. They literally ran from house to house this year – through the whole neighborhood. What a difference to last year. Last year, they came back after slowly walking from house to house for 30 Minutes. This year, they did not want to stop. Well, but the best part is checking out what they got the goodies!!!

and eating some.

Before it got too late, and Michael had lost his voice again, he took in Anna to get the red color and curling mousse out of her hair. Lilly drank some warm milk to warm up again and both fell asleep within seconds of hitting that pillow.

Ah, now I get to take down spiders, bats and spider webs.
