The weather has gotten sufficiently cold for me to get into my winter cooking and baking frenzy. Yes, it is true, that the more I stress, the more I bake, and that might be especially true around the holidays, but it is also my cold season bug. So far, no one has complained
This afternoon was quite dreary…. rainy, foggy with 100% humidity, and cold. Anna and Emily wanted to bake cookies. It is not quite Christmas Season for me yet, so we opted for the simple, cut out sugar cookie. The girls had a blast making and decorating them and they were, ahem, are delicious!
I am in the midst of making Advent calendars and end of the week Christmas will start for us. We will get our Christmas tree – a fresh one. The German School here has a Christmas Market on Saturday and on Sunday and we will light the first candle on our Christmas wreath.
Anna is dancing in the Nutcracker production of her ballet school this year. So, she has now Saturday and Sunday practices. She is loving it! We are trying to fit in our Christmas celebrations and traditions, like cookie baking and ginger bread house making. The days and weekends are filling up with Holiday cheer.
Wishing everybody a wonderful Holiday Season.

Das sind ja nahezu holy days, voller Vorbereitungen, voller Vorfreude, voller Duft, voller Traditionen. Gott sei Dank gibt es ein Leben neben der Schule!!
